A few visitors stopped by today including one who is no stranger to the
hawk watch. Former coordinator John Irvine of Harrisonburg made it up
today with his son, Jed, visiting from Carvallis, Oregon;
Bob Anderson of Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory;
Judy & Harry Vest of nearby Stuarts Draft, and Peter Clark.
Weather:
Overcast during the morning hours with faintest hint of a breeze E to SE,
temp: 16.5c>18.2c then dropping down to 16.5c; Humidity: 53%<46%>54%;
Bar.Pressure: 1003 dropping to 999 by last hour; Completely overcast with
clouds moving out by 3 p.m. EST; Hazy.
Raptor Observations:
A few birds moving through with a few highlights including three Northern
Harrier, another Bald Eagle, a sub-adult at 3:44 p.m.; and an adult Golden
Eagle flying over a few minutes before the Bald at 3:41.
Non-raptor Observations:
Two small flocks of Cedar Waxwing (6, 11);
Monarch Butterfly: 14
