Weather:
Sunny day with brisk WNW winds. A few clouds. Temp 14.5-20.5C. Humidity
88%-56%. Low haze in am with visibility increasing from 10km at 7am to 40km
by noon.
Raptor Observations:
Adult Peregrine Falcon circled slowly for at least 5 minutes (caught a big
bug in flight) over the Parkway before deciding to finally head south at
9:44am.
Non-raptor Observations:
LOTS (hundreds) of warblers flying across the gap in the first few hours of
the morning, but I just couldn't identify any. One flew into the Inn's
window and died, and I still couldn't identify it for sure (darn fall
warblers)!
Lots of Red-Headed Woodpeckers flying over the ridge heading west usually
in small groups of 2 or 3, with one group of 5. Total Red-Headed
Woodpeckers observed = 32, which must be some sort of record for RGHW.
Two hummingbirds.
28 Monarchs.
