Weather:
All fogged in until 9am. Warm day starting at 24*C with a high of 27*C.
Brisk breezes from the West at 20-28km/hr. Partly cloudy all day with
humidity falling from 74% to 47%.
Raptor Observations:
The day started out with 2 Ospreys in the morning, an American Kestrel, 3
Broad-winged Hawks, 5 Sharp-shinned Hawks, and 3 adult Bald Eagles (10:07,
10:16, and 10:27 am). The afternoon was comprised mostly of watching
vultures, swallows, and swifts along with another Osprey, 2 Coopers Hawks,
7 Broad-winged Hawks, and 2 Kestrels.
Non-raptor Observations:
A flock of 20 Nighthawks seen at 9:20am and two individuals at 4:30pm. 20
Monarchs and 11 Hummingbirds.
Predictions:
Sunny, clear, not as hot

The Rockfish Gap Hawk Watch is held on the grounds of the Inn at Afton,
located on the southern side of Rockfish Gap in the Blue Ridge Mountains,
just above where I-64 (exit 99) intersects with the southern end of the
Skyline Drive and the northern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway, just east of
Waynesboro, VA and approximately 22 miles west of Charlottesville, VA.
