Weather:
Nothing but clear blue skies all day and not a single cloud! Temp.
15.5-21.5C. Light SE breezes. Clear visibility
Raptor Observations:
Another good showing of BW Hawks, but we had to really work for them,
especially in the afternoon. The clear blue skies made it challenging to
find the birds, which were flying high and often were not seen until they
just appeared out of nowhere right in front of our eyes! Hourly BW Hawk
count: 20 (7-9am), 98 (9-10am), 35 (10-11am), 170 (11-12pm), 42 (12-1pm),
17 (1-2pm), 38 (2-3pm), 6 (3-4pm).
3 more Osprey, a Harrier, and an immature Bald Eagle at 10:07am.
Non-raptor Observations:
62 Monarchs. Flickers are moving. David reported quite a "convention" of
Flickers on the north ridge-line.
Predictions:
Warm and sunny again, SW breezes with isolated thunderstorms (30%) in the
evening.
