I've been photographing a hairy woodpecker this morning. He has been
threatening to peck 2 redbuds and 1 dogwood that were just planted last
year. If I could, I'd be glad to give him directions to anyone in the state
that wants him.

This morning I heard a whip-poor-will just before dawn. It is the first
I've heard one this year, though I haven't put in much time trying to hear
one.
