In the last several weeks I've noticed more Hermit Thrush action than I
consider usual right around Long Branch Nature Center in Arlington. But today,
at 1:10 PM, I was staring out the window at falling leaves when unexpected
motion on the ground caught my eye. It was a Hermit Thrush foraging in our back
yard. It was sheer luck that I happened to catch the movement, because with the
blanket of fallen leaves otherwise it was hard to spot. I believe that is a
first for us in our yard. Cheers,
