A group of us ventured down from Montgomery County in Maryland to Prince
William County, mainly to look at the gulls at the landfill and at Neabsco
Creek.
We couldn't find the Iceland but did see 5 Lesser Black-backs (3 adult, 1 2nd
winter, 1 1st winter) at the landfill. There was also a 1st winter Herring
Gull with unusually white head and underparts and sparsely-marked
rump/uppertail coverts.
There was nothing unusual at Neabsco creek so we went to Julie Metz and readily
found one of the Harris's Sparrows feeding with a group of White-throated along
the main trail leading to the monument.
