Visitors:
Couple made the mistake of walking in the milkweed.
Weather:
Northeast winds in 1-3 strength throughout the day with abundant clouds and
light rain briefly, but considerable showers throughout the James River
basin to our West in the afternoon. The Peaks were peeking through clouds
all day. Temps in the high 70's.
Raptor Observations:
Despite the tail wind, the hawks were primarily on the West side,
particularly the Ospreys who made a strong showing today, but the Eagles as
well.
2 ABEs at 2:00; one at 3:10. Young Red Tail having a bad feather day
perched in a tree below us (see FB page).
Non-raptor Observations:
Great help today from Bob E., Darryl, Mike C., Katie, Joyce and Sue and Tim
(who had spot of the day for picking up high BWs). Not many hikers or
bikers, but plenty of gnats.
Predictions:
Clouds, rain and wind predicted with Florence's landfall.
