Visitors:
Low Parkway traffic and very few stopped at the Overlook. I had one
sectional hiker going north.
Weather:
Wind variable at 4-7 mph from the SE. Temperatures ranged from 12-14C and
falling back during the afternoon. Visibility at a 5 early and after 12
haze covered the west valley. Cloud cover increased throughout the day and
by the end of watch was 100%. In general, a cool overcast day. Brief shower
in the P.M.
Raptor Observations:
A northern harrier came through at 9:20 and I had 4 red-tails. The last
came through at 12:35. All came in over the Knob and crossed over to the
east side.
No vultures today.
Non-raptor Observations:
5 cormorants flew south on the west side at 1:45.
3 ravens kept me occupied most of the day.
Predictions:
Periods of light rain with low visibility.
