Observation start time: 09:00:00
Observation end   time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 7 hours

Official Counter:        Mitch Mitchell

Observers:        Dan DeHart, Darryl Martin, David Kirk, Mike Crowder

Visitors:
A couple from New Jersey, another from Valdosta, GA and the winner of the
furthest distance traveled, a couple from Israel all stopped and inquired
about our activities.  New hawk watcher Matt Conner dropped by for a few
minutes also.

Weather:
Surprisingly comfortable day with temperatures from 45F at beginning of the
watch and rising to 65 by the end.  Cloudless skies with all the far ridges
clearly visible.  Virtually no wind on the western side but fairly strong
east and southeast winds in the eastern valley.

Raptor Observations:
Other observers today were Lee Jarrett and Tim Coleman.
Majority of the few birds seen today were sharp shinneds with half of those
observed during the 11:00 hour.  Birds were observed on both sides of the
overlook.

Non-raptor Observations:
Approximately a dozen monarchs, a few blue jays, swifts and several ravens.

Predictions:
Chance of rain in the early morning hours but appears that will drop to
virtually no chance by typical bird watch time.  Cloud cover should be the
opposite of today. Maybe slightly cooler.
