that helped spot and ID. Today was definitely one to remember
Weather:
Very clear day with barely any cloud cover and temperatures ranging from
57�-67�F. Strong East winds most of the day especially at the beginning
Raptor Observations:
All times in EST. First bird was a Kestrel at 9:00 AM. ABE(10:16)
IBE(10:16) IBE(10:41) IBE(11:16) BE(11:18) BE(11:35) IBE(11:59) IBE(12:03)
BE(12:12) BE(12:23) BE(12:32) IBE(12:51) BE(1:18) ABE(1:27) ABE(1:30)
IBE(1:47) ABE(2:29) BE(2:42) BE(3:24) 2BE(4:18) IBE(6:01). We set a site
record for Bald Eagles with 22 with the previous record being 19 set
yesterday. We also set a site record for American Kestrels with 35 with the
previous record being 19 set on 9-19-06. Broad Wings were everywhere with
some kettles and streams of over 100. Most birds were eye birds.
Non-raptor Observations:
A few hundred Monarchs, couple hundred blue Jay's, 3 cormorants,
yellow-billed cuckoo, goldfinches, chimney swifts, vultures, ravens.
