A friend and I had a good day early Saturday Morning in Stafford - Pine
Warbler, Brown Thrasher, and others. However, we ran across three Sparrows in
the small bushes surrounding a large field. After some study, we identified
them as Henslow's Sparrows - large pale bill, short-tail, flat head, striped
with reddish tint on the wings. Sibley's notes the winter and summer range as
south and north of us. I assume we got lucky and caught three migrants a "life
list" bird for both of us.
