Patty Elton and I visited Hog Island today. We didn't get quite the
impressive totals that some folks have recently - see list below. We did find
the Yellow Warbler that Elisa Enders thought she saw on her visit.
Note: The prohibition on entering the posted "Waterfowl Rest Areas" is being
enforced. This limited somewhat our choice of locations to bird, mostly we
just birded along the road in.

Afterwards we stopped in at Dutch Gap. By then it was early afternoon and
really hot. We just drove the main road in and stopped at the overlooks then
walked down the
back trail.
We had planned to go to the historic area overlook but, there is major
excavation going on within the historic area itself, with a lot of noisy
equipment. Birdwise little
of note.
