This morning at approximately 9 am a neighbor called to inform me he just
observed the most amazing sight. He noticed out his lakefront window two
eagles approaching the water when he realized they were headed for a wading
Great Blue Heron. Within second they attacked the heron and proceeded to
drown it then drag it off into the brush. I immediately grabbed my binocs
and headed to his home. No eagles nor heron were to be seen. However, a
short time later I noticed several Bufflehead and amongst the small group
was a beautiful Horned Grebe.
