[va-bird] Horseshoe Crabs v. Red Knots - Info

I am by no means an expert on this issue, but thought I would share some references that should be useful regarding horseshoe crabs and shorebirds.

A colleague, Jim Berkson, is a professor at Virginia Tech working on horseshoe crabs. The group has established a website here:

There are a number of good articles, especially a review paper that includes discussion of the horseshoe crab fishery and effects on shorebirds:
