By first light this rainy morning a female Ruby-throat was feeding at the
feeder. It has been back several times throughout the day. Yesterday there were
two female Ruby-throats here. The latest we have had a hummer here on the
mountain has been October 7, so these late birds are really an unusual treat
for us. I keep watching to see if we might get something other than a
Ruby-throat, but nothing else so far.
Also yesterday a late Magnolia Warbler was feeding in our weedy field
Around noon today our first of the season White-crowned Sparrow came in to feed
with three White-throated Sparrows and a couple of Towhees.
