Hi VA-Birders,
We observed something interesting today with the 3 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds
that have been visiting our feeder throughout the day for the past few weeks.
We're in SE Gloucester County and have experienced heavy rain and winds gusting
to 55 mph today with Hurricane Irene, and there has been NO CHANGE in the
behavior of these hummingbirds.
They've come to the feeder despite the adverse conditions and are still chasing
each other away as usual. It's been pretty amazing to watch them hover over the
feeder in the face of strong winds and rain.
