An American Bittern flew into the sunlight and settled to the right of the
viewing platform of the boardwalk loop at 7AM today. Solitary Sandpipers, a
Spotted Sandpiper and Greater YL were also seen, as well as two Prothonotary
Warblers inspecting cavities for possible nest selection near the observation
tower.
Water levels are decreasing and over 100 Rusty Blackbirds availed themselves
of the muddy shoreline to forage. The lower water levels may attract rails or
sora.
