This morning's Huntley Meadows Monday Morning Birdwalk started in beautiful
weather that slowly eased into a gentle rain. The 13 birders were able to spot
49 species with FOS sightings of a White-eyed Vireo and Blue-gray Gnatcatchers,
along with the sighting of a Virginia Rail and the call of a second, and the
Sora that have been reported recently. Other highlights included 2 singing
Hermit Thrushes, and exquisite Blue-winged Teal and Wood Ducks. It was a
beautiful morning even in the rain.
