After careful and anguished consideration, it has been concluded that trail
conditions at Huntley Meadows will be too hazardous for tomorrow's Monday
Morning Birdwalk. Safety on the boardwalk is of particular concern. So,
despite our heroic claims that the walk always happens, the Monday Morning
Birdwalk on December 21 will have to be canceled. Regrettably, plans for the
first annual Monday Morning Birdwalk Winter Solstice Celebration will also
have to be postponed.
The Birdwalk will resume on December 28 at 7AM ( unless we get another
Nor'easter). The Friends of Huntley Meadows wishes all VA Bird subscribers a
happy and peaceful Christmas . . . and Solstice.
