I decided to be late for work this morning - I set out for Huntley
Meadows and arrived just before 730am.
There were already four or five others there waiting to see the Virginia
Rails. They did not disappoint. I think they first started showing
themselves around 8am.

The large group of juvenile wood ducks was still present in the big pool
below the observation tower. There was one female escorting 10 juveniles:
