I was rewarded for sleeping in and getting to Huntley Meadows around noon with
two life birds: the reported Olive Sided Flycatcher and a Mississippi Kite.
Also a beautiful Great Egret. Sadly my husband was a bit behind me and the
flycatcher flew off it's post at the entrance of the boardwalk and didn't
return for him to see. Rather unfair since he took the kids this morning so I
could get a little sleep!
Four nighthawks flew into the Tyson's area to hunt bugs over the pyramid
buildings precisely at 9:00pm. Saw a total of 4 but could only stay a few
minutes.
