VA BIRDers,
Starting a bit before sunrise on the "backside" of Huntley (Telegraph and
So. Kings parking lot). Highlight was Mourning Warbler, on the main trail
about midway between the entrances to the Pond Trail. Overall, diversity
seemed a bit low compared to prior years and several species that should
have been present were not (but then again, this is a screwy spring). Top 6
species in terms of numbers were Red-eyed Vireo, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher,
Common Yellowthroat, Tree Swallow, Tufted Titmouse, and Cedar Waxwing.
