Hi folks,
We would like to invite folks from all over the Carolinas and Virginia (and
from anywhere else for that matter) to come and be a part of the first ever
Upper Yadkin Valley CBC. We realize that this count date announcement is sort
of last-minute, but that was the nature of our notification from the CBC office
that they had reviewed everything and were ready to give us the formal
go-ahead.This could offer the most diversity of any count in northwest North
Carolina. Within the circle are W. Kerr Scott reservoir, the town of
Wilkesboros, and most sections of the Yadkin River greenway - lots of territory
to cover. Adjacent to the reservoir are lands managed as gamelands in
accordance with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. The YMCA property
includes over 2000 acres and a recreational lake that is very productive with
respect to winter waterfowl.
Bridgett Stout (copied on this message) of the YMCA at Camp Harrison in Boomer
is the Compiler for the count. Please respond to her (preferably) to inform her
of your interest in participation and to me for details about the count circle.
If you could offer your availability, we would greatly appreciate it.
