Great idea Brenda!
You might have to add a section for "Birders of the Commonwealth" so we can
find each other in the field!

At the start of the new year, I have been on a quest learning digiscoping
to photograph birds of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
After traveling hundreds of miles and seeing quite a few birds along the
way I decided to set a personal goal to see 300 species in one year.
By the start of spring migration I was well on my way. Within a week after
the VSO spring meeting everything came to an abrupt halt with my mom's
unexpected illness and sudden death. During those trying days I would
sometimes escape to Craney Island which was close to the hospital and it
was here I captured some of my favorite photographs.
This is a work-in-progress as I continue practicing digiscoping. Thankfully
I have a very understanding and supportive non-birding spouse and although
I may not reach 300 species for the year, I'm enjoying traveling the state,
birding and photographing.
I have run into some of you along the way. If you're out and about and
come across a silver Chrysler Town &Country minivan with license plate
HAWKER, be sure and stop to say hello or wave as you pass by.
Below is the link to my new web site. It is still under construction so
check back from time-to-time.
