Hello Friends,
Several have asked if the bird is a true albino. Yes, it is. There is no
pigment whatsoever. The eyes are red, the beak is pink, etc. I've added a
few shots to the link, including one close-up detail of face showing red
eye.
We took several hundred photos and so far I've only looked at a few on the
computer since we are home. I just opened a shot Marlin got that I think is
just stunning. I've added it and listed it first. The second photo is the
one that is cropped tight in photo 3 showing the eye detail.

What color were the eyes? They look red in the photo. According to Ken
Kaufman most birds that appear all white are more safely referred to as
Leucistic rather albino but if the bird's eyes are red (actually they are
colorless and it is the blood behind that makes the eyes appear red/pnk)
then perhaps this is truly an albino......there are probably other
qualifications that I am totally ignorant. Perhaps someone else knows a bit
more on the topic.
Certainly is a truly unique bird and well worth photographing!
