Hi Everyone,
I birded the wetlands of James River Park in Richmond yesterday from about
8:45-12:00 yesterday. A lot of the park was eerily silent, I only
encountered a few pockets of birds. I didn't find many warblers, but there
were a few migrants:
White-eyed Vireo - singing on a branch in view only a few feet a way

Louisiana Waterthrush - a new life bird for me

Common Yellowthroat
The usual year-rounders: blue jay, cardinal, titmouse, chickadees and
robins everywhere you turn, hairy and downy woodpeckers, white-breasted
nuthatch, and a red-shouldered hawk. Hummingbirds were VERY abundant, and
some American Crows were busy mobbing something, probably an owl, as I've
seen Great Horneds in that area, but I couldn't get a look.
Also, for those of you interested in insects, I found one Chinese mantis and
one Carolina mantis:
