Warren Rofe and I found a juvenile Snow Goose earlier today at Wilck's Lake
in Farmville. It flew in with a large flock of Canada Geese and landed on
the water near the island. It was still present when we left at 11:30 am.
Another young Snow Goose was seen in southern Buckingham County just a few
miles away two days earlier by Mike Stinson. Snow Geese are rarely seen in
the south-central Piedmont.
