In addition to our roaming teams, last year 5 Virginia hawkwatches
participated in the Kiptopeke Challenge in a special new "experimental"
hawkwatch
category and anyone conducting a hawkwatch in Virginia on Sept 13th is invited
to
participate this year! Just send a list of all birds seen from the hawkwatch
to KC Coordinator Paul Nasca (see his List Serve post), who will post the
results. There is no entry fee (though any pledges are welcome) and birds must
be identified by at least 2 observers. Team members must be within "shoutin
distance" of the hawkwatch. Tape recordings to attract birds are not allowed.
Not many rules.....we try to keep there "fun" in fund-raising!
Looking forward to an exciting day!
