Observation start time: 06:30:00
Observation end   time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 9.5 hours

Official Counter:        Anna Stunkel

Observers:

Weather:
Winds were light and variable, often from the southwest and east. Skies
were partly cloudy. It was very hot again, with temperatures reaching up to
90 with a "real feel" of 99.

Raptor Observations:
Most of the day was very slow, but there was a nice burst of Osprey
activity in the later afternoon. A few kestrels were on the move.

Non-raptor Observations:
The rarity streak continues; an Anhinga passed the platform today at 9:22
AM EST! The bird was not very close, but its soaring profile with the long,
fan-shaped tail was distinctive through the scope. It was flying high to
the north of the platform, and headed towards the northeast. This
afternoon, two recently fledged mockingbird chicks were quite entertaining.
They were pestering their parent incessantly, but he/she seemed ready to
let the chicks try and feed themselves. Other highlights included:

9 Red-headed Woodpeckers (7 of which were loosely flying together)
7 Eastern Bluebirds
1 Red-breasted Nuthatch (FOS, flyover)
1 Tree Swallow (FOS)

1 Giant Swallowtail
