Observation end time: 14:30:00
Total observation time: 8 hours
Official Counter: Anna Stunkel, Brian Taber
Observers: Brian Taber, Joe Beatty, Katie Garst
Weather:
Light winds were generally from the west northwest and west southwest, with
a bit of fog in the early morning. Skies were mostly cloudy, with
temperatures in the sixties.
Raptor Observations:
Most of the flight was composed of sharpies and Ospreys. Birds were flying
very low.
Non-raptor Observations:
I was frustrated to see a balloon floating over the bay. This is probably
the 8-10th balloon seen floating past the platform this season, adding more
dangerous trash to our environment. Today's observations included:
6 Bonaparte's Gulls
2 Rusty Blackbirds
1 Hermit Thrush
1 Northern Gannet
1 Red-breasted Nuthatch
1 Red-eyed Vireo (a very late find, spotted by Brian Taber)
1 White Ibis
12 Monarchs
