Weather:
It rained for a few hours this morning. Winds were moderate to light and
from the east northeast/east, with overcast skies throughout the day.
Temperatures were in the upper fifties to low sixties.
Raptor Observations:
We had an excellent harrier flight today, with a new high day count for the
season. Most of these individuals were adults (both females and males).
They were flying very low, often in pairs and trios.
Non-raptor Observations:
Tundra Swans are here! Katie saw approximately 134 of them flying over the
beach on her walk this morning. Sixty two more Tundra Swans were seen
during count hours. Other observations included:
22 Great Blue Herons
8 Horned Larks
6 Dark-eyed Juncos
1 American Pipit
1 Lincoln's Sparrow
1 Pine Siskin
2 Monarchs
