Observation start time: 10:15:00
Observation end   time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 4.75 hours

Official Counter:        Anna Stunkel

Observers:

Weather:
There was rain this morning. Strong winds were generally from the east
southeast. Skies were mostly cloudy, with temperatures in the seventies to
low eighties. It felt good to have a cool breeze.

Raptor Observations:
Not much, probably because of the large band of rain to the north of us and
the blustery conditions.

Non-raptor Observations:
Despite the lack of raptors, other birds continue to make surprise visits
to the platform. An American Bittern flew by this afternoon, heading
towards Taylor Pond. (Just a few hours before, I'd been talking with a
visitor about bitterns!) Nine Black-bellied Plovers, six White Ibises, and
several small flocks of unidentified shorebirds (many of which were
probably Lesser Yellowlegs and Semipalmated Sandpipers) passed.
