Weather:
Light to moderate winds were variable, often from the east southeast. Skies
were mostly cloudy, covered with a thin layer of wispy clouds. Temperatures
were in the mid forties to low fifties.
Raptor Observations:
We had a nice buteo and Bald Eagle movement, along with three more Golden
Eagles (one either juvenile or subadult, and two definite juveniles).
Non-raptor Observations:
Observations included:
8 Great Blue Herons
3 American Pipits
1 Dark-eyed Junco
10 Monarchs
1 Buckeye
1 Cabbage White
Predictions:
Please note that Kiptopeke State Park will be closed tomorrow and the next
day for the deer hunt. I have permission to conduct the count during this
time.
