Hola Birders,
Today with a change in the weather, winds and a little blessing form our local
raptor deity we saw a migration. The skies were clear, the winds generally
mild northerly and the temperature moderately warm. This shot most migrants to
a fairly high altitude. We counted 123 migrant raptors today mostly Ospreys
and Kestrels. Here's the breakdown:
OSPR: 57
BAEA:2 (basic 1, HY)
NOHA: 4
COHA: 4
BWHA: 3
AMKE: 52
There was also one very interesting but frustratingly under-identified raptor
counted as Unidentified Raptor. Hopefully it will stick around and we'll see
him again tomorrow! Our total count to date is 644 raptors.
Good day and Good birding!
