Howdy all,
This last cold front was very good to us here at the banding station. We
basically had three good days in a row. Yesterdays we highlighted by the
capture
for a hatching year male GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER! This is a species that we
seldom catch here at Kiptopeke and boy was it a beautiful bird! We also caught
our
first NORTHERN PARULA and SWAINSON'S THRUSH of the year. We also caught an
unexpected and seemingly early WESTERN PALM WARBLER as well. We ended the day
with 89 birds banded.
