Howdy all,
What a difference a day makes. There were a lot of birds around yesterday
when it was windy, but today it was nice and calm so all the nets were open,
and
it was dead quite today. We only banded 11 birds today, and I was pretty
happy with that. There were very few birds around this morning; a complete 180
from yesterday. All kind of a bummer. Not sure tomorrow is going to be much
better.
Our biggest "event" was a deer totally ruining a net. I mean it clobbered
it.
Anyway, here was the days totals:
9/12:
American Restart 6
Prairie Warbler 1
Black & white Warbler 3
Veery 1
TOTAL----------------------- 11
Sure hope there are birds around for the Kiptopeke Challenge tomorrow!
Cheers,
