Howdy all,
Just a quick note: Today was the first day banding for the fall season! And a
warm one it was! The station is mostly up but the heat is going to keep us
from banding past noon. We managed to catch a few birds (13) before it got too
hot. The best two birds of the day were a BlLUE-WINGED WARBLER and a LOUISIANA
WATERTHRUSH! We also caught a MOURNING DOVE which is a bird we rarely catch!
The list of birds banded today:
Blue-winged Warbler 1
Field Sparrow 1
Louisiana Waterthrush 1
Carolina Wren 4
Northern Cardinal 5
Mourning Dove 1
Total 13
I will write more about the station in the next few days. Still busy trying
to the the station looking like a banding station!
Sure nice to be back on the eastern shore!!
Cheers,
Jethro Runco
