Howdy all,
Today was a much better day banding than the last two. Bird numbers were up and
the temps down. After the front past last night, we had a good push of birds
this morning. The problem was that it was also a little windy this morning. The
wind is not much of a friend to our nets. So we didn't catch as much as I was
hoping. None the less, we still managed to catch 68 today. The main capture
today was redstarts. Highlight to day was the capture of or second Blue-winged
Warbler of the season. We also caught our season's first Black-throated Blue
Warbler, C. Yellowthroat, Chipping Sparrow, and Eastern Kingbird. Tomorrow
might still have quite a few migrants around as well.
Here is the list of birds for the last three days.

So far the season is shaping up to be a good season. At least for right now.
There are many migrants passing through right now with a great diversity of
birds! It is nice to see so much and it is only the 22nd of August!
See you at the banding station!
Cheers,
Jethro Runco
