Howdy all,

Today was such a different day at the banding station  than yesterday, but it
was just as good. By the end of the day (before the rain  came) we had banded
132 birds, but the species were extremely good. We had many  of the "fancy"
warblers that we didn't catch yesterday. Like: CHESTNUT-SIDED,  BLACK-THROATED
GREEN, HOODED, CONNECTICUT, and BLACKPOLL WARBLERS!! How could  you not enjoy
that!?! And that was just the warblers. We also caught our fifth  (and now a
15 year high) PHILADELPHIA VIREO, two WOOD THRUSHES and a LINCOLN'S  SPARROW!
Yep, good day.
I am very hopeful that tomorrow is just  as good. There is north winds in the
forecast for tonight, but I am afraid that  it is going to be a bit too windy
in the morning to fully take advantage of what  might be around. Guess time
will tell!

Here's the birds banded for the  first of October:

catching many thrushes right now for some reason or another

Gray  Catbird                             37
Northern  Cardinal                       1

Reading all the reports coming in to the listserve, I would recommend
getting out and doing some birding if you all can. Good time of year to find
almost
anything!

Cheers,
