Howdy all,

The last three days have seen a nice push of birds into the area. Of  course,
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS have been making up the majority of the birds
however. But we have had a few nice species around. Over the last three days,
we
have banded 3 BLACK-THRAOTED GREEN WARBLERS, a few BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLERS, 4
BLACKPOLL WARBLERS, 2 PINE WARBLERS (not a species we catch many of here), and
a  YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT. We have also been seeing a jump in "winter" birds as
well, like HERMIT THRUSHES, both KINGLETS, and the SPARROWS.
If the weather would have been better Saturday morning (it was raining here
early in the morning), we would have banded 500+ but we got a late start and
missed out. And then Sunday, it was very windy here so we were lucky to catch
what we caught. Today (Monday) was a nice day and we did well again.
I have a  feeling we will be catching a lot of birds over the next week as
long as the  Yellow-rump numbers stay high and the weather is good to us.

Also, there  have been a lot of PINE SISKINS here too.

And from the hawk watch, another ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen today, as it
slowly did circles just over the platform. Killer looks!
