We arrived at the "kite field " near Gladys today (August 24) about noon where
we found three Mississippi Kites and the two Swallow-tailed Kites. One of the
Swallow-tails (the one without the radio antenna) was only seen briefly a few
times, but the tagged Swallow-tailed Kite(as well as all of the Mississippi
Kites) actively fed over the field, sometimes swooping quite close to the
grass. Five other people stopped by to see the birds while we were there.
When we left around 1:00 pm, four of the kites were still there (1 ST and 3 MS).
