Hola,
This morning the dark immature Rough-legged Hawk that's been seen off-and-on
along US 17 near Lois, Fauquier County (across from Hugo's roller skating
rink) was seen again this morning. It was hover-kiting over the field,
relatively
close to the road. I think I could see through my own watery eyes that he
too was enjoying a bit of the ol' wet eye.
I pass this spot daily, at least once, at varying times, and don't find this
bird every day. That said, I suspect it isn't going far, as it's still
somewhat anchored to the area.
Anchor, now that's a good segue to the anchor that sits symbolically in the
middle of the New England Patriots locker room.
