I checked Lake Fredrick for ducks before work this morning, numbers
were down a bit from what was reported yesterday but it was still very
good. Another Surf Scoter has joined the one that has been there
since Monday but other than that nothing new. The Long-tailed Duck
was very close to shore again this morning and I was able to get a few
photos which I will add to my eBird list when I get home. There were:
Lesser Scaup - 2
SURF SCOTER - 2
LONG-TAILED DUCK - 1 male
COMMON GOLDENEYE - 2 male
Common Merganser - 3 female
Hooded Merganser - 1 female
Ruddy Duck - 6(didn't count too carefully, there may have been more
that were underwater when I counted them)
Common Loon - 8
Pied-billed Grebe - 1
