VA BIRDers,
I visited the Remington sod farms off Normans Ford Rd this morning and the
100+ Horned Lark flew as I arrived. I managed to see 1 Lapland and heard
another - its possible other observers who were there earlier had better
luck. Also at this location were 25 Eastern Meadowlark and 13 Savannah
Sparrows.
On the way home I visited Parkgate Rd in Nokesville at a stream crossing and
noted 3 Wilson's Snipe frozen in stance next to the frozen wet, grassy area.
After I arrived home, I soon learned of David Ledwith's Eurasian Wigeon, so
I hightailed it over to Pohick Park and David and I refound the wigeon in
about 15 minutes.
