Birding around Fort Story beaches and CBBT on Monday was profitable, as
noted in the other posts.
The only exciting birds not mentioned so far were:
LARK SPARROW behind Fort Story Club, singing atop a small bush behind the
"volleyball court" - i didnt realize until returning to the car that this
was a rare sighting here, but the chestnut markings on the face and clean
underparts were distinctive
At Island 3, we saw a pair of Gadwall and a female Canvasback mixed with
the scaup and scoters.
We saw no harlequins, white-winged scoters, or eiders, but we were at the
islands in the afternoon and perhaps not the right time.
