Tipped off by Bill Young's report, on Sunday (9 March) I checked out Pohick
Bay Regional Park in Lorton.  There were 7 Red-necked Grebes, 2 of them in
breeding plumage, accompanied by 8-10 Red-breasted Mergansers.  They were
for the most part close to the pier. Here are some pictures
http://wlb3.smugmug.com/Virginia-Parks/Pohick-Bay-Regional-Park/.

Also observed were an immature Bald Eagle, 2 Great Blue Herons, 3 Black
Vultures, and 5 or so American Coots.

Sorry for the late report, caused by a sick computer, now repaired.

Cheers
