I made two brief stops at these locations this morning hoping to come across a
Franklin's Gull. I found none. I arrived at Neabsco Creek (my first stop at
about 7:30ish) just as all the gulls left to distant hidden areas among the
lily pads on this rising tide so I missed Marc's Franklin's. I also looked on
my way out from Leesylvania but there were even fewer visible at that time. I
also scanned frequently for cave swallows with no success at both locations. At
Leesylvania it was calm and warm. At Pohick Bay it was very windy.
I had 2 bonaparte's gulls at Leesylvania among the other species of common
gulls.
At Pohick Bay there were good numbers of gadwalls, american coots, forster's
terns, and pied-billed grebes.
I have posted links to the ebird lists here.Leesylvania
