I made 2 trips to Leesylvania SP in Woodbridge this morning. My first visit
was cut short my rain. Around 10am I returned for another go and was glad I
did. I ran into several nice flocks of birds and ended up with 12 warbler
species, plus least flycatcher, veery and Swainson's thrush, rose-breasted
grosbeak, scarlet tanager, and yellow-billed cuckoo. Warblers seen were
black-and-white (8), magnolia (7), common yellowthroat (6), American redstart
(5), northern parula (5), Cape May (2), Tennessee, bay-breasted, blackpoll,
black-throated blue, yellow-throated, and black-throated green. Quite a few
more went unidentified as they flashed through the treetops in very poor light.
