I visited the Kerr Lake area yesterday and located the Lesser Black-backed Gull
below the dam and also observed an immature Great Black-backed Gull on top of
the dam. At Dick Cross WMA, I located a male Common Yellowthroat at the
impoundment area. Eleven+ Bald Eagles were observed along the river below the
dam.
This morning I visited the City of Hopewell and Charles City County again. The
Parula and Orange-crowned Warblers continue in Hopewell and one of the recently
observed Baltimore Orioles was relocated in Charles City County. Gull numbers
are challenging to estimate along the Appomatox and James River at Hopewell but
this morning I feel comfortable that 12,500-15,000 plus were present. Some
